First time football
This summer
was my first time playing football. It was a lot of work. It was lots of
learning, defending, and A LOT of running. Now that the season started and
we're practicing everyday, my whole day is just school, football, homework, and
sleep. The first two preseason games I found out what its like to be able to
hit someone. I found out that when you wear pads and hit someone as hard as you
can, you don’t get hurt at all. The facemask and helmet is where I get hit and
hit people with the most. I like this sport a lot more than basketball now
because there's not as much skill needed like being able to shoot a basketball
or dribble the ball. Football is just straight up running and knocking the guy
on his ass. I chose to play defense because your the one who's hitting people. No
ones trying to take you to the ground its you that does all the tackling. This sport
is a lot of fun because it’s the only time in the world that you can hit
someone as hard as you want and not get in trouble or be sent to jail. It also
can prove how tough you are and how much you want to actually hit someone. I
want to continue football as long as I can and try to keep getting better at
it. Football is what got me to make friends at this new school. If I didn’t play
during the summer I would only know a couple people here and I'd be a loner.
It'd be great to describe what you enjoy about football with more specificity--like that you conveyed your love of the sport and its impact on you. Watch conventions.
